Spiritual Formation

Spiritual Formation, as I use the term, is the intentional practice of committing oneself to prayer and reflection. It is not the practice through which one seeks to become "holier than thou" or to become "other worldly". Rather, we seek to be spiritual because we are called to give glory and honor to God Almighty. As we intentionally focus upon our spirituality we become more and more aware of the presence of God in our daily lives. This is a process that never ends and a process that will daily lead us to a closer walk with our Father. We begin our journey through Spiritual Formation by focusing upon prayer. For a much better description of Reformed Spirituality, please read this paper.

Here are the dates we will cover each of the methods below:

  • Centering Prayer, Sept. 19 - October 9
  • Lectio Divina, October 16 - October 30
  • Labryinth, November 6 - November 20
  • Fasting, November 27 - December 11
  • The Jesus Prayer, December 18 - January 8
  • Taize, January 15 - January January 29
